Pakistan Court Orders Confiscation of Aleema Khan’s CNIC and Passport in PTI Protest Case
Rawalpindi, October 24, 2025: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has ordered the confiscation of the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and passport of Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, after she failed to appear before the court in connection with the November 26 PTI protest case, local media reported.
The directive was issued by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah during a hearing on Friday related to FIRs filed against Aleema Khan and several others for their alleged involvement in the protest. The case pertains to the PTI demonstration held on November 26, 2023, which turned violent after party supporters clashed with law enforcement near Islamabad’s D-Chowk despite a ban on public gatherings.
According to Geo News, the court also ordered the freezing of Aleema Khan’s bank accounts and directed both the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Directorate of Immigration and Passports to enforce the orders.
Repeated Absences Lead to Stern Action
The decision came two days after the same court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Aleema Khan for the fourth time, citing her continued absence from proceedings despite repeated summons.
The court also instructed the authorities to confiscate the property of her guarantor, Umar Sharif, following her failure to appear. During the hearing, no legal representative appeared on behalf of Aleema Khan, while special prosecutor Zaheer Shah and ten other accused were present in court.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah remarked that Aleema Khan has remained publicly active but continued to ignore the court’s directions. The case has now been adjourned until October 27.
Background of the Case
The November 26, 2023 protest was part of PTI’s campaign demanding the release of Imran Khan, who has been in prison since August 2023 after being charged in multiple cases, including corruption and terrorism. The protest, which lasted three days, ended after violent confrontations between PTI supporters and police forces, who used teargas and barricades to control the crowd.
The court’s latest order marks a significant escalation in legal action against PTI members and associates amid a growing crackdown on the party’s leadership following Imran Khan’s imprisonment.
Final Thoughts by The Trending People
The confiscation of Aleema Khan’s CNIC, passport, and bank accounts signals a tightening legal noose around the PTI leadership in Pakistan. As political tensions continue to rise, the decision underscores the judiciary’s firm stance against defiance of court orders while reigniting debates over judicial impartiality in cases linked to Imran Khan’s allies.
