THE TRENDING PEOPLE — DMCA POLICY (Updated Jan 01, 2026)
Effective Date: January 01, 2026
TheTrendingPeople.com (“The Trending People”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and other applicable copyright laws. This DMCA Policy describes how to submit reports of alleged copyright infringement and how we handle such reports as a news publisher.
1. Designated Copyright Agent — How to Send a Notice
To file a copyright infringement claim, please send a written notice containing the elements listed in Section 3 below to our designated agent:
Email (preferred): Info@thetrendingpeople.com
Alternate email: trendingpeople1@gmail.com
Postal mail:
The Trending People — DMCA Agent
R-Z-49/B-7, Tughlakabad Extension
New Delhi, Delhi 110019
India
Phone (for questions only; not for filing notices): +91-99-5861-8977
When possible, send notices by email for faster handling. We will acknowledge receipt and begin reviewing your complaint.
2. Response Time & Procedure
- We will acknowledge receipt of a properly formatted DMCA notice within 1–3 business days.
- We will review the claim promptly and may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material while the claim is investigated.
- If we remove or disable content, we will notify the party who posted the content (if contact information is available) and provide information on how to submit a counter-notice.
- If the copyright owner files suit or otherwise provides proof of a court order, we will follow the court’s direction.
- If a counter-notice is received, we will follow the DMCA’s procedures (see Section 6). Typically, we will restore content within 10–14 business days of receiving a valid counter-notice unless the complaining party files a lawsuit seeking a court order to restrain the alleged infringing activity.
3. What Your DMCA Notice Must Include
To be effective, a DMCA notice must be a written communication that contains the following information (per 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- Your full legal name and contact information (address, telephone number, and a valid email address).
- A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g., title, description, registration number if available).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and its exact location on our site (provide full URL(s) or other identifiers). If the material appears in search results, include at least one search term under which it appears.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.
- A statement that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf (typing your full name at the end of an emailed notice constitutes an electronic signature).
Incomplete notices may delay processing. False statements may expose the sender to liability for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees).
4. Information We May Request
After receiving a notice, we may request additional information to validate the claim (for example: proof of registration, screenshots, or a notarized statement) before taking action.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
Per our obligations under the DMCA, The Trending People has a policy that provides for termination in appropriate circumstances of users who are repeat infringers. We may terminate or restrict access to accounts of users who repeatedly post infringing material. We also reserve the right to remove or block access to content posted by repeat infringers without prior notice.
6. Counter-Notice (If You Believe Content Was Removed in Error)
If your content was removed or disabled by us and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a written counter-notice containing the elements below. After we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and may restore the material within 10–14 business days unless the complainant files a lawsuit seeking injunctive relief.
A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your full legal name, mailing address, and telephone number.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where the material appeared before removal (provide full URL(s)).
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if you are outside the United States, consenting to the jurisdiction of any U.S. federal district court in which The Trending People may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.
-
Your physical or electronic signature.
Send counter-notices to: Info@thetrendingpeople.com (subject line: “Counter-Notice — DMCA”).
7. News Publisher & Fair Use Considerations
As a news publisher, we publish reporting, commentary, excerpts, thumbnails, and thumbnails/links that may involve copyrighted materials. We consider and apply fair use and other exceptions where appropriate under applicable law (including lawful quotation, news reporting, criticism, commentary, and parody). If you believe a piece of content should be treated under a fair-use or other lawful exception, please explain the basis in your submission and include any supporting evidence.
8. International Rights & Notices
This policy follows U.S. DMCA procedures but we respect rights holders globally. If you are submitting a complaint from outside the U.S., please include the same elements described in Section 3. We will process notices consistent with applicable laws and international agreements.
9. Additional Notes
- Emailing our Internet Service Provider, hosting company, or others instead of using the contact details above does not constitute a proper DMCA notice to The Trending People and may delay processing.
- We may retain copies or archives of removed content for legal, compliance, or investigatory purposes.
- We recommend that rights holders consult an attorney before submitting a notice if they are uncertain about their rights.
