Who is Shree Khatu Shyam ji?

According to mythological beliefs, Bhima encountered Hidimba while the Pandavas were roaming from one forest to another trying to save their lives. Later Hidimba gave birth to a son named Ghatokha. Later Ghatokha had a son named Barbarik. This barbaric will later be called Khatu Shyam.

History of Khatu Shyamkund
According to ancient legends, it is believed that Khatu Shyamkund was built or originated during excavation. Yes, once upon a time, around 1100 AD, Roop Singh Chauhan's wife Narmada Kanwar had a dream in which she saw an idol buried under the ground, after which the place was excavated from which Khatu Shyam ji's body was actually found. The head was taken out. From the same excavation a tank was formed which is known as Khatu Shyamkund.
Why is Khatu Shyam called the support of the loser?
After hearing about the Mahabharata war, a young Barbarik insisted to his mother Maurvi that he too wanted to see the Mahabharata war. Because of the stubbornness of the son and the love of the mother, Barbarik got permission to go to see the Mahabharata war. As soon as Barbarik came out of the house, the mother said, "Go, son, be the support of the loser". He told his mother that whoever loses in the war, will fight on his behalf. Riding on a blue horse, Barbarik with three arrows replied to the mother it will happen as you said, I will definitely be the support of the loser.
Barbarik had divine powers which he got from Lord Shiva. Barbarik had 3 arrows that could destroy the entire universe. Only one arrow of Barbarik could decide the Mahabharata war.
Barbarik was going to see the war of Mahabharata with a high speed his own speed riding on a blue horse. A Brahmin stopped him on the way and while praising him said you are very brave and charitable. Brahmin was taking his test, he told Barbarik that he want donation.
Barbarik was a great donor, he asked the Brahmin to tell him what he wanted?
Brahmin said that you donate your head to me! Barbarik smiled a little after hearing this and said that you come in your real form, I promise that you will get what you asked for. Hearing this, Lord Krishna appeared to Barbarik after coming out of Brahmin disguise. Barbarik said to Shri Krishna, O Lord, I will fulfill my promise, but I had a heartfelt desire to see the war of Mahabharata, it cannot be fulfilled now, I am very sad.
Lord Shri Krishna knew very well that the defeat of the Kauravas in this religious war is certain and if Barbarik will fight on their behalf, then definitely the Pandavas will be defeated in this religious war. That's why he asked Barbarik to donate his head.
Shri Krishna told Barbarik that you will definitely get the fortune of seeing this war. Barbarik cut off his head and placed it at the feet of the Lord. Lord Shri Krishna put the head on a high place so that Barbaric could see the war of Mahabharata. Pleased with Barbarik's charity, Shri Krishna presented him his name "Shyam" as a gift. Also blessed that in the coming age you will be worshiped in my name. Whenever a lost and broken devotee comes to you, all his works will be completed by your worship.
