Sharing a detailed note on Instagram on March 3, the actor described the uncertainty and chaos she witnessed at the airport when flights were abruptly halted.
Esha revealed that she was at Abu Dhabi airport on February 28 when operations were suddenly suspended. “By 1 pm the airport was closed, chaos all around as none of us knew what happened,” she wrote, recalling how news of missile attacks began filtering in while passengers anxiously contacted family members back home.
The escalation followed joint strikes by the United States and Israel that reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, triggering retaliatory missile attacks across the region. The situation led to widespread airspace closures, disrupting global aviation.
In her post, Esha praised the response of the Abu Dhabi International Airport authorities and the UAE government. She said ground staff and airport security acted swiftly and calmly despite the tense atmosphere.
The actor shared that passengers were provided food allowances and hotel accommodation under government directives. She described hotel staff working tirelessly to manage the sudden influx of stranded travellers, adding that there was a sense of collective resilience among passengers.
Esha said she was fortunate to board one of the first commercial Etihad Airways flights that resumed operations and arrived in Delhi on March 2.
