Delhi Budget 2026: Semiconductor Policy, AI Centres and MSME Push Announced
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday unveiled an ambitious Budget 2026–27 roadmap focused on transforming the national capital into a production-driven and future-ready economy, with major announcements in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and MSME growth.
Semiconductor and Drone Policy Announced
Presenting the budget in the Assembly, Gupta announced the introduction of a dedicated semiconductor policy aimed at building a strong manufacturing and research ecosystem in Delhi. A fund of ₹1 crore has been allocated to support infrastructure and attract industry players.
Alongside this, the government will roll out a new drone policy with a ₹1 crore allocation to promote innovation, startups, and manufacturing in the emerging sector.
AI Centres and Industrial Infrastructure Boost
The budget earmarks ₹8.20 crore for setting up two Artificial Intelligence Centres of Excellence. These hubs will focus on research, innovation, and startup incubation, while developing AI solutions for governance, healthcare, education, and urban mobility.
To strengthen industrial productivity, ₹48 crore has been allocated for Common Facility Centres aimed at improving infrastructure and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises.
MSME Growth and Digital Push
Highlighting the importance of MSMEs as the backbone of Delhi’s economy, Gupta announced plans to train 32,000 MSMEs under the RAMP scheme. Additionally, 15,000 businesses will be onboarded onto digital platforms like GeM and ONDC to expand their market reach.
A separate ₹10 crore allocation has been made for a new warehousing policy to boost logistics and supply chain infrastructure.
