Don't Become Slaves of Technology’: PM Modi's Key Mantras for Students at Pariksha Pe Charcha
NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday shared vital life lessons and exam strategies during the second episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha. Interacting with students across Coimbatore, Raipur, Guwahati, and Gujarat, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of mastering technology rather than being mastered by it.
In an era where digital screens dominate daily life, PM Modi's message served as a timely reminder for the "Gen-Z" cohort to maintain a healthy balance between innovation and independence.
The Technology Trap: Master or Slave?
A central theme of the Prime Minister's interaction was the growing dependency on mobile devices among the youth. He noted with concern that mobile phones have effectively become "masters" for some children, many of whom find it impossible to even eat a meal without a smartphone or television screen in sight.
“It means that you have become slaves of mobiles. You have to make a firm resolve that you will not let technology enslave you,” PM Modi told the gathering. He urged students to view technology as a tool to increase their potential rather than a digital shackle.
Embracing AI and the Future
Addressing the anxiety surrounding emerging technologies, the Prime Minister encouraged students to face the future with confidence. Rather than fearing the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), he suggested that students should leverage these tools to hone their skills.
“Do not be afraid of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Use them to improve your potential and sharpen your skill sets,” he advised, highlighting that adaptability is key to success in the modern world.
Exam Success: Sleep, Preparation, and Communication
Beyond technology, PM Modi provided practical advice for those appearing for upcoming examinations. He identified two pillars of a stress-free exam experience: thorough preparation and physical well-being.
- Practice: He urged students to practice previous years' question papers to build familiarity and confidence.
- Rest: “A good night’s sleep will keep you cheerful for the rest of the day,” Modi said, noting that well-prepared students rarely feel the weight of tension.
He also touched upon the essence of leadership, defining it beyond the realm of politics. According to the Prime Minister, true leadership lies in the ability to clearly communicate thoughts to others. “Leadership does not only mean contesting elections. A key leadership quality is the ability to clearly communicate your thoughts to at least ten people,” he remarked.
Honoring Mentors and Health
Reflecting on his own journey, the Prime Minister recalled how his mother and teachers played a pivotal role in shaping his life. He specifically mentioned his teachers' insistence on regular exercise, urging students to prioritize their physical health to remain focused and productive.
