Speaking to reporters recently, Garner recalled that the intense scene lacked heavy choreography, leading to an unexpectedly real physical confrontation.
Garner said that director Peter Berg had encouraged realism while shooting an action sequence.
“Pete told him to try to kill me. We did not have a lot of choreography, and he told me to do anything I could to survive,” she said.

“I bit his ear, and we have a picture of him missing a chunk of ear, because we were not kidding,” Garner added.
Garner compared the incident to boxer Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield during their infamous 1997 fight.
Laughing about the moment, she said, “Don’t make me mad. I seem nice. I’ve warned you before.”
Despite the injury, no long-term harm was reported, and filming continued as scheduled.

The actress also recalled another unusual experience from 2024, when she was stuck in an elevator for more than an hour at San Diego Comic-Con.
Garner shared the experience on social media, joking about needing superheroes to rescue her.

She added that she tried to stay calm by recalling advice from TV shows like The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
