Adivi Sesh Confirms ‘Very Unique’ Collaboration With Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh in Dacoit
Actor Adivi Sesh has officially confirmed his collaboration with Bhojpuri music powerhouse Pawan Singh in his upcoming pan-India film Dacoit, calling the association “very unique” and one that has already sparked strong curiosity among audiences.
Speaking about the collaboration, Sesh said that working with Pawan Singh has generated excitement for all the right reasons, adding that the nature of their association is something viewers will have to wait and discover on screen. He hinted that the collaboration is unconventional, without revealing specific details.
Pawan Singh, a dominant force in Bhojpuri cinema and music, began his professional journey as a music accompanist, performing live on the harmonium before rising to stardom. In recent years, he has expanded his presence beyond regional cinema, lending his voice to Hindi tracks such as “Aayi Nai” from Stree 2 and “Chumma” from Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. His extensive filmography includes popular Bhojpuri titles like Pratigya, Crack Fighter, Sher Singh, Har Har Gange, Powerstar and many others. He was also recently seen on the reality show Rise and Fall, hosted by Ashneer Grover.
Dacoit boasts a strong ensemble cast featuring Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. The film traces the journey of an enraged convict seeking revenge against his ex-girlfriend who betrayed him, evolving into an emotionally charged narrative of love, betrayal and vengeance.
Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, Dacoit is currently in post-production and is being positioned for a grand pan-India theatrical release. The story and screenplay have been jointly written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo.
Sesh made his debut in 2010 with Karma and gained early recognition through antagonist roles in Panjaa, Balupu and Baahubali: The Beginning. He later established himself as a leading performer with films such as Kshanam, Goodachari, Evaru, Major and HIT: The Second Case.
Our Thoughts
The collaboration between Adivi Sesh and Pawan Singh is one of the more intriguing cross-industry pairings in recent times. With Sesh known for grounded, intense storytelling and Pawan Singh commanding massive popularity across North India, Dacoit appears to be strategically positioned to bridge diverse audiences. The secrecy surrounding Pawan’s role only adds to the anticipation. If executed well, this “very unique” association could redefine how pan-India films tap into regional stardom beyond conventional casting choices. As expectations rise, Dacoit is shaping up to be more than just a revenge thriller — it could become a notable experiment in contemporary Indian cinema.
