Actress Rakul Preet Singh is currently busy with the much-anticipated sequel Pati Patni Aur Woh Do and has added to the buzz by sharing a glimpse from her dance rehearsal on social media. The actress took to Instagram Stories to post a short video where she is seen preparing to practise her moves with her choreographer, while a peppy track plays in the background.
Though Rakul did not disclose the song, her caption read, “And then we rehearse for a super fun song,” accompanied by a red heart emoji, hinting at a lively dance number in the film. The sequel features Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles and is directed by Mudassar Aziz.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 15, after being postponed from its earlier Holi release date of March 4 due to pending post-production work. Mudassar Aziz had earlier directed the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh, a modern retelling of the 1978 classic directed by B. R. Chopra, which starred Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur.
The makers had unveiled the first-look poster in October last year, showing Ayushmann Khurrana as Prajapati Pandey, signalling a story packed with romance, chaos and marital confusion.
Our Thoughts
Rakul Preet Singh’s rehearsal glimpse adds to the growing curiosity around Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, especially with a strong ensemble cast and a proven director at the helm. The sequel appears to retain the comic chaos that worked in the earlier film while introducing fresh characters and relationships. With its release now set for mid-May, the makers seem confident of delivering a polished entertainer. If the energy seen in Rakul’s rehearsal is anything to go by, the film’s music and dance numbers could play a key role in connecting with audiences looking for a light-hearted theatrical experience this summer.
