Tamil Nadu Announces Major Police Reshuffle Across Tirunelveli Range
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has announced a major year-end reshuffle in the police department, effecting key changes across the Tirunelveli range. The reshuffle includes the appointment of a new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the range, a new Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police for Tirunelveli city, and new Superintendents of Police for Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Thoothukudi districts.
Senior IPS officer P. Saravanan has been appointed as the new DIG of Police, Tirunelveli range. He was previously serving as the Superintendent of Police of Villupuram district. His appointment comes as part of the government’s broader administrative reorganisation at the end of the year.
N. Manivannan, who was serving as Commandant of the Tamil Nadu Special Police II Battalion in Avadi, has been promoted to the rank of DIG of Police and appointed as the Commissioner of Police of Tirunelveli city. His elevation marks a significant leadership change in the city police administration.
C. Madhan, earlier posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police of Thoothukudi town sub-division, has been promoted as Superintendent of Police and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Tirunelveli city west. V. Prasanna Kumar, who was serving as DCP of Tirunelveli city west, has been transferred and appointed as the Superintendent of Police of Tirunelveli district.
Further, G.S. Madhavan, previously the SP of Kallakurichi district, has been posted as the Superintendent of Police of Tenkasi district. N. Silambarasan, who served as SP of Tirunelveli district, has now been appointed as the Superintendent of Police of Thoothukudi district.
