PM Modi to Visit Jordan on December 15–16 to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a bilateral visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 15 to 16 at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first full-fledged bilateral visit to Jordan and comes as India and Jordan mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
The visit takes place amid sustained high-level political engagement between New Delhi and Amman and is expected to review progress in cooperation across political, economic and strategic sectors. Discussions are also likely to focus on regional stability in West Asia, an area of shared concern for both countries.
India and Jordan maintain close coordination on global and regional issues, supported by regular leadership-level interactions and institutional dialogue. Both nations have consistently aligned their positions against terrorism, extremism and radicalisation, emphasising zero tolerance towards violent ideologies.
Jordan’s Amman Message, which rejects Takfiri ideology and the misuse of religion to justify violence, aligns closely with India’s long-standing counter-terrorism approach. The visit is expected to reaffirm shared commitments on peace, security and development while further strengthening the framework of bilateral cooperation.
