Thayumanavar Scheme: Doorstep Ration Delivery Scheduled on January 4 and 5
Tiruvarur: Beneficiaries of the Thayumanavar Scheme in Tiruvarur district have been advised to remain at their residences on January 4 and 5, 2025, to receive ration supplies delivered directly to their doorstep. According to an official release, nearly 34,000 senior citizens and differently abled persons have been identified for coverage under the scheme in the district.
The initiative aims to ensure food security for vulnerable sections by eliminating the need for physical visits to ration shops. District authorities have planned the distribution using 363 vehicles, which will cover designated routes across urban and rural areas over the two-day period. Officials said the schedule has been carefully prepared to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Beneficiaries have been instructed to stay at home during the distribution dates to avoid missing their allocation. Officials added that field staff will verify beneficiary details before handing over ration items, ensuring transparency and accountability.
