Bollywood continues to grieve the loss of legendary actor Dharmendra, as leading stars Kriti Sanon and Sidharth Malhotra expressed heartfelt condolences on social media. The veteran icon, revered across generations, passed away on Monday at the age of 89 after being discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month.
Kriti Sanon shared an emotional note along with a still from Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya, recalling Dharmendra’s warmth and generosity. She reflected on the precious moments she shared with him and described his passing as “the end of an era,” remembering his smile, kindness, poetic charm, and the affectionate blessings he offered whenever they met. The actress said she would carry those memories forever as she bid farewell to the star.
Sidharth Malhotra also paid tribute by posting a picture of the beloved actor, writing that Dharmendra had given audiences “years of memories and magic, on and off screen.” He thanked the late superstar for his contribution to cinema and shared his condolences with the family, ending with a solemn “Om Shanti.”
Earlier in the afternoon, Bollywood heavyweights including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan were seen arriving at the Pawan Hans crematorium to offer their final respects. Heavy police security was in place as the stars reached in their vehicles, and crowds gathered to witness the solemn moment.
Dharmendra’s wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol were also seen outside the crematorium, acknowledging fans and photographers with folded hands as the industry and admirers united in grief.
Dharmendra leaves behind a cinematic legacy spanning over six decades, and is survived by his first wife Prakash Kaur and their children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeta Deol, and Vijayta Deol, as well as Hema Malini and their daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
As tributes continue to pour in, Bollywood, fans, and the nation remember a titan of Indian cinema whose contributions, persona, and iconic screen presence shaped generations of film lovers.
