Hrithik Roshan Welcomes K-pop Star Jackson Wang in India, Gears Up for War 2 and Directorial Debut in Krrish 4
Mumbai, June 12 (TheTrendingPeople): Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan recently extended a warm welcome to internationally acclaimed K-pop star Jackson Wang, who is currently touring India. Hrithik was joined by his father, veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, and his mother Pinki Roshan during the meeting.
Rakesh Roshan took to Instagram to share a special moment from the gathering. In the photograph, Jackson Wang is seen standing between Hrithik and Pinki Roshan. Both the singer and the actor are dressed in stylish all-black outfits, posing for the camera with smiles. “Jackson welcome & God bless!” wrote Rakesh Roshan in the caption accompanying the post.
Jackson Wang, a Hong Kong-born rapper, singer, and songwriter, rose to fame as a member of the South Korean boy band GOT7, which debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2014. He launched his solo music career in 2019 with the album "Mirrors," which peaked at number 32 on the US Billboard 200 chart. He followed it with his second studio album "Magic Man" in 2022, which climbed to number 15 on the same chart. Wang’s global popularity continues to soar, with Forbes ranking him 41st in the China Celebrity 100 list in 2020 and moving him to the 10th spot in 2021.
Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is currently busy with his upcoming big-budget action thriller “War 2,” directed by Ayan Mukerji. The highly anticipated film also stars Kiara Advani in a pivotal role. Produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, “War 2” will be the sixth installment in the iconic YRF Spy Universe franchise. The film is set to release worldwide on August 14, and will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. With adrenaline-pumping action sequences and an ensemble cast, the film is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
In addition to "War 2", Hrithik is also set to return to his superhero roots with the much-awaited “Krrish 4.” The announcement of the film was made in April, sending waves of excitement across his fanbase. In a surprising turn, Hrithik Roshan will not only reprise his role as the titular superhero but also make his directorial debut with this installment. The move marks a generational shift in the franchise, which was originally created and directed by Rakesh Roshan over the last 22 years.
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan confirmed Hrithik’s transition into the director’s chair, calling it a symbolic passing of the baton in one of India’s most beloved superhero sagas. “Krrish 4” is being produced by Yash Raj Films in collaboration with Rakesh Roshan’s production house. With Hrithik stepping into both direction and acting, the film promises to bring a fresh creative vision to the franchise. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.
As Bollywood and K-pop continue to intersect, Hrithik Roshan’s meeting with Jackson Wang signals a growing cultural exchange and rising collaboration potential between Indian cinema and global music icons.
