Actress Aishwarya Raj Witnesses Drone Attack in Jaisalmer, Describes Scary Experience
Thiruvananthapuram | May 9, 2025 — Malayalam actress Aishwarya Raj had a frightening experience on Thursday night when she saw what appeared to be a drone attack while staying in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. She was there shooting for her upcoming film ‘Half’, a vampire thriller directed by Samjad.
Speaking to reporters over the phone from Jaisalmer, Aishwarya said,
“At first, I thought it was a military mock drill. But soon I realized the loud sounds and bright lights in the sky were actually shells flying around. It was very scary.”
She added that she only understood the seriousness of the situation after watching the news on her hotel TV.
“That’s when I knew it was real and not an exercise,” she said.
Film Shooting Cancelled Amid Rising Tensions
The film crew, which includes around 200 members, had been shooting in and around Jaisalmer for the past 10 days. However, due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan and increased drone activity in the region, the team has decided to cancel the shoot and return home.
“We had plans to shoot near the border, but now that’s not safe,” Aishwarya explained. “We are waiting for a vehicle to take us to Ahmedabad, and from there we’ll fly to Kochi.”
Aishwarya Raj recently played an important role in the Malayalam movie "Officer on Duty."

Defense Situation in Jaisalmer
