The American man was asleep in a hotel in Las Vegas when he woke up because his testicles hurt very badly. He found out later that a scorpion had bitten him.
A man from Agoura Hills named Michael Farchi had a strange and upsetting experience at the Palazzo Tower at The Venetian in Las Vegas, USA. Farchi was sound asleep when he woke up suddenly from a terrible pain in his testicles, which CBS News said was caused by a scorpion sting.
"When I woke up, there was a sharp pain in my private parts." Not sure what it was. Farchi told KABC in Los Angeles, "I reached out with my hand to see what was going on under the covers and felt another sharp pain."
ABC News says that when he reached down to find what was hurting him, he saw the scorpion stuck to his underwear. He was stung at least three or four times by the small, poisonous animal. It's unclear what kind of scorpion it is or how dangerous its poison is.
He then went to a nearby hospital to get help and told the hotel staff about what happened. He told her he still had to pay for the room. He is now suing Palazzo Tower in Venetian for an unknown amount of money.
Brian Virag, Farchi's lawyer, told ABC News, "Nobody staying in Vegas should have to deal with deadly scorpions while they sleep, let alone on their testicles or private parts."
Even though Virag said he was sure that the resort's rules and methods would stop situations like the one Farchi was in, the lawyer said it is a whole different thing to be sure that the rules are being followed. 8newsnow reported that he also stressed how important it is to always check out a hotel room and the places around it when you check-in.
8newsnow was told by the Palazzo Tower at The Venetian, "The resort has protocols for all incidents, and we can confirm they were followed in this incident."
