About Moosewala's death
Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Mansa, Punjab, in May 2022. Six gunmen shot him when he was driving with his cousin and companion to Jawaharke hamlet in Mansa, 10 kilometres from Moosa, the singer's hometown.
Punjab police SIT is investigating his death. Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria were among 32 suspects charged by the team.
In Mansa, a candle march commemorated Sidhu. Many of the late singer's followers and friends marched in Moosa village to demand “justice” for him. Sidhu's mother marched also. Memorial prayers were performed at a Jawahar Ke village gurdwara for the singer.
Moosewala's parents must be hurting after his demise, Diljit Dosanjh said in 2022. He also noted that artists had been slain frequently. He accused the administration for ‘nalayaki’ generally.
Diljit told Film Companion about Moosewala and Deep Sidhu's automobile accident fatalities. “They all worked hard. I don't think artists can hurt anyone, speaking from experience. I disagree with you, guy. Nothing could separate him from another. Why would somebody kill? This is heartbreaking. Just talking about it is hard. Consider that your only kid dies. His parents—how would they cope? You cannot understand what they are going through; only they know,” he said.
The singer-turned-politician was famous with singles like So High, Same Beef, The Last Ride, Just Listen, and 295.
