Actress Triptii Dimri, known for her powerful on-screen presence, recently opened up about how her upcoming film Dhadak 2 helped her confront personal fears and find her voice after years of silence.
Speaking about her role as Vidhi in the romantic drama, Triptii shared that the character’s strength and honesty inspired her deeply. “She is not afraid to speak her truth. There’s so much to learn from her because she makes you feel empowered,” Triptii said, adding that she’s long been an introvert. “I have been an introvert. I’ve seen and faced things, and not raised my voice against them.”
The actress admitted, “For 30 years of my life, I have kept quiet about so many things. I never had the guts to tell people that it’s wrong.” But working on Dhadak 2 changed that. “I told Shazia [Iqbal, the director] that I want to be like Vidhi. By the end of this film, I should have the courage to speak my truth without being scared of anyone or the outcome. Now, I do stand up for the right things.”
The film, a spiritual sequel to Dhadak and a remake of the Tamil hit Pariyerum Perumal, addresses the harsh realities of casteism. Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi opposite Triptii, is set to release on August 1.
Triptii also has a promising lineup ahead with Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film alongside Shahid Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit with Prabhas.
