Ruslaan Mumtaz Opens Up on Loneliness in Showbiz, Highlights Mental Health Crisis
Bollywood actor Ruslaan Mumtaz has spoken out about the emotional toll of the entertainment industry, shedding light on the silent battle many face behind the glamour. In a recent interview with IANS, the Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar actor emphasized that loneliness in showbiz is not just real—it’s dangerous.
He shared that while the struggles of actors are often visible due to media attention, the mental health crisis is not exclusive to the film world. “People from all walks of life are dealing with emotional challenges,” Ruslaan noted. “Isolation is a key factor, and even though social media makes it look like we’re all connected, in truth, people feel more alone than ever.”
The actor also addressed the impact of the pandemic, which he believes intensified feelings of loneliness and anxiety. “After COVID-19, we saw a surge in cases of people silently suff
ering. Sadly, some even took their lives. The issue is real, and we need to talk about it.”
Discussing his new web series Tic Tac Timeout, Ruslaan said the show tackles the sensitive topic of suicide with care. “We show that ending one’s life is not the solution. My character struggles with suicidal thoughts but finds hope and transformation through human connection. The core message is that life can change at any moment — don’t give up.”
Through his candid words and new project, Ruslaan Mumtaz aims to break the silence around mental health and encourage open conversations about seeking help.
