Sadia Khateeb Wraps ‘Silaa’, Recalls Shooting Inside Son Doong Cave Without Phone or Electricity
Actress Sadia Khateeb has wrapped up the shoot of her upcoming film Silaa and is reflecting on what she calls one of the most unforgettable experiences of her career.
Starring opposite Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia revealed that a significant portion of the film was shot inside the world-famous Son Doong Cave, where the team spent four days without phones, electricity or basic comforts.
Describing the experience, Sadia said the crew slept in tents and had to trek nearly 25 kilometres through challenging terrain. She noted that the cave has its own ecosystem, almost like a separate world with its own ground and sky. According to her, the shoot demanded physical endurance as the team climbed mountains and navigated long stretches inside the cave. She described the journey as filled with sweat, effort and intense dedication, calling it exhilarating.
In contrast to the rugged cave schedule, Sadia also shot a song sequence in Gulmarg, where she experienced a different cinematic dimension. She shared that for the first time, she was presented as a full-fledged Bollywood heroine. Having previously portrayed rooted and intense characters in films like Shikara and The Diplomat, she said embracing the classic romantic heroine space felt special and refreshing.
‘Silaa’, presented by Zee Studios, is described as an intense action romance featuring layered characters and high-stakes drama. The project is backed by producers Omung Kumar, Umesh KR Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Himanshu Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Abhishek Ankur and Captain Rahul Bali under Blue Lotus Pictures, Stark Entertainment and Innovations India, with co-production by Rahhat Shah Kazmi.
Apart from ‘Silaa’, Sadia will also be seen in an upcoming project alongside Kapil Sharma, Neetu Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.
‘Silaa’ is slated for release later this year.
