Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Unveils Jagapathi Babu as Appalasoori, Film Set for April 30 Release
The makers of director Buchi Babu Sana’s much-anticipated rural action drama Peddi have unveiled the look of Jagapathi Babu from the film, confirming that he plays a character named Appalasoori.
Production house Vriddhi Cinemas shared the announcement while wishing the actor on his birthday, stating that his performance as Appalasoori will be one of the highlights of the film. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on April 30, 2026.
Headlined by Ram Charan, Peddi has already generated massive excitement among fans. Just days ago, Ram Charan shared gym photos, hinting that he was “fired up” and preparing intensely for the project. The film is positioned as a high-octane rural action entertainer mounted on a grand scale.
The unit recently wrapped its Delhi schedule, with cinematographer R Rathnavelu calling the visuals immersive and poetic. Key sequences, including a major fight choreographed by Sham Kaushal, were shot on a massive set at the Aluminium Factory in Hyderabad. Sources indicate that the talkie portions are nearing completion, with post-production progressing steadily.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. The ensemble cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma.
With AR Rahman composing the music and Navin Nooli handling editing, Peddi boasts a powerhouse technical team, raising expectations further ahead of its summer release.
