Mrunal Thakur Says Communication Is Modern Love’s Biggest Challenge Ahead of ‘Do Deewane Sehar Mein’ Release
Actress Reflects on Relationships in the Age of Endless Digital Options
Mumbai: Actress Mrunal Thakur, who is preparing for the release of her upcoming romantic drama Do Deewane Sehar Mein, believes that communication has become the biggest challenge for relationships in modern times.
Speaking during promotional interactions, Mrunal shared her perspective on how the digital era has transformed the way people connect — and sometimes disconnect — in relationships.
“The Only Problem Today Is Communication”
Talking about love and relationships today, Mrunal said the ease of communication has paradoxically complicated emotional bonds.
“The only problem today is communication,” she said, adding that in the age of the Internet, people often feel emotionally exhausted because of endless options and constant connectivity.
The actress also spoke about the emotional spillover actors may experience while portraying intense characters. “As an actor, sometimes if I am playing someone who is in a difficult mental state, it might reflect on how I am with my partner, family or friends. But I try not to bring my characters home,” she explained.
Simpler Times, Deeper Bonds
Mrunal recalled a conversation with veteran actress Bhagyashree, mother of actor Abhimanyu Dasani, about how love stories unfolded in an era before smartphones.
“She told us how there was significance attached to each call. Waiting at a PCO for one call in a week had meaning,” Mrunal said. According to her, that anticipation and limited access made relationships feel more intentional.
She observed that today’s multiple modes of communication have made love “brittle” at times, as constant availability reduces the value of meaningful interaction.
About the Film

The film is backed by Zee Studios and Bhansali Productions, with producers including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bharat Kumar Ranga in association with Ravi Udyawar Films.
The romantic drama is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 20, 2026.
Changing Dynamics of Modern Relationships
Mrunal’s remarks come at a time when conversations around digital relationships, emotional fatigue and dating culture are gaining prominence. Studies globally have pointed to “choice overload” in the age of dating apps and social media, often leading to commitment anxiety and communication breakdown.
Her reflections mirror a broader cultural shift where instant connectivity coexists with emotional distance.
Our Final Thoughts
Mrunal Thakur’s candid take highlights an uncomfortable truth about modern relationships: constant connection does not always guarantee emotional depth. As digital platforms continue to redefine romance, the challenge lies in preserving intention and authenticity. With Do Deewane Sehar Mein releasing soon, audiences may see these themes reflected on screen — making the film timely in more ways than one.
