Pushpa 2 Stampede Case: Allu Arjun Named in Chargesheet as Hyderabad Police File Final Report
Hyderabad Police have filed a detailed chargesheet in connection with the stampede that occurred during the launch show of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre last year. The incident, which took place amid massive crowding following actor Allu Arjun’s arrival, had raised serious questions over event management, crowd control, and public safety.
According to a report by Gulte, the chargesheet was submitted by Chikkadpalli police after a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The management of Sandhya Theatre has been named as the prime accused (A1), while actor Allu Arjun has been listed as A11 in official police records.
Police officials clarified that naming individuals in the chargesheet is aimed at fixing responsibility related to negligence and lapses that led to the stampede, and not at presuming guilt. The investigation focused on identifying procedural failures and accountability among all parties involved.
Crowd management lapses under scrutiny
The police investigation concluded that the stampede was largely caused by poor crowd control and inadequate security arrangements. A huge number of fans had gathered outside the theatre to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, but entry regulation, internal movement planning, and overall crowd management were reportedly mishandled.
Authorities stated that the event organisers and theatre management failed to anticipate the scale of the gathering and did not deploy sufficient security personnel. Poor coordination at entry points and lack of effective crowd movement protocols were cited as key contributing factors.
As part of the probe, police recorded statements from theatre staff, private security guards, event organisers, and members of the public who were present during the incident. Based on these testimonies and on-ground assessments, the police concluded that lapses in planning and execution led to the dangerous situation.
Case heads to court
With the submission of the chargesheet, the case will now move to the judicial stage. All those named will be given an opportunity to present their version before the court, in accordance with legal procedure.
Police reiterated that being named in a chargesheet does not automatically imply criminal intent. The aim, officials said, is to establish accountability and ensure that such incidents do not recur during large public events.
Final Thoughts
The Pushpa 2 stampede case underscores the growing need for stricter safety norms at large-scale film events. While star appearances draw massive crowds, responsibility for safety lies with organisers and venue managers. Transparent accountability through legal processes is essential not only for justice but also to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
