Chandrababu Naidu Pays Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Birth Anniversary, Hails His Visionary Leadership
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary, describing him as a visionary leader whose decisions played a crucial role in shaping modern India.
Speaking at a ceremony in Venkatapalem near Amaravati, Naidu, along with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, unveiled a statue of Vajpayee, honouring the late leader’s contribution to governance, national security, and economic reforms.
Naidu said Vajpayee continues to live in the hearts of millions for his inclusive politics, statesmanship, and commitment to democratic values. He noted that Vajpayee’s leadership marked a defining phase in India’s political history, particularly through decisive governance and long-term policy thinking.
Recalling the close association between Vajpayee and the late former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), Naidu said NTR laid the foundation for the anti-Congress movement through the National Front, with Vajpayee playing a key national role during that era.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Vajpayee’s foresight in strengthening India’s telecommunications sector, calling it the backbone of the knowledge economy. “The progress we see today in digital connectivity and communication has its roots in Atal ji’s vision,” Naidu said.
He further praised Vajpayee’s leadership during critical moments, including India’s nuclear tests, stating that national interest always remained paramount for leaders like Vajpayee and NTR.
Looking ahead, Naidu reiterated his commitment to public welfare, aligning his governance vision with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda, and assured that he would continue working for the progress and well-being of the Telugu people.
