Adani Sportsline Announces Third Edition of 3x3 Hoopers League in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad: Adani Sportsline on Friday announced the third edition of the 3x3 Hoopers League, scheduled to be held on December 20 and 21 in Ahmedabad, reinforcing its focus on strengthening India’s grassroots basketball ecosystem through structured and competitive platforms.
The upcoming edition will feature a wide range of categories, including Under-12, Under-15, Under-18 and Under-23 divisions for both boys and girls, alongside Open categories for men and women. The multi-category format is designed to create inclusive participation opportunities for players across age groups and experience levels. Registrations for the tournament closed on December 17, reflecting strong interest from the basketball community.
All matches will be conducted in accordance with federation regulations, and the tournament has received official approval from the Gujarat Basketball Federation. This ensures adherence to recognised competitive standards, fair play, and proper officiating throughout the event.
The 3x3 Hoopers League has steadily grown since its inception. The second edition witnessed participation from nearly 80 teams across Gujarat, highlighting the increasing popularity of the fast-paced 3x3 basketball format. The format has gained traction globally due to its high-intensity gameplay and shorter match durations, making it appealing to both players and spectators.
The tournament follows the internationally recognised 3x3 basketball structure, with each team consisting of four players. Matches will be played either for 10 minutes or until one team reaches 21 points, whichever comes first. Teams will compete in league-stage matches before progressing to knockout rounds, ensuring competitive exposure and sustained engagement.
Through initiatives such as the 3x3 Hoopers League, Adani Sportsline aims to provide young athletes with access to organised competition, helping identify and nurture talent at an early stage. The league also serves as a platform for players to gain experience in a format that is now part of the Olympic programme.
