The World of ‘Mirzapur’
The Mirzapur franchise, produced by Excel Entertainment, has grown into one of India’s most successful crime-thriller sagas. The story revolves around Akhandanand ‘Kaleen Bhaiya’ Tripathi, played by Pankaj Tripathi, a powerful crime boss who rules the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
The first season introduced audiences to the gritty underworld of Mirzapur, featuring Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The second season retained the core cast while introducing Vijay Varma, Isha Talwar, Lilliput, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Anangsha Biswas, and Neha Sargam, further expanding the universe of the show.
Filming Returns to the Heart of Purvanchal
Staying true to its roots, Mirzapur: The Movie is being filmed across Uttar Pradesh, including locations like Varanasi, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Lucknow, Raebareli, and Gorakhpur.
The movie is expected to carry forward the legacy of the franchise, blending raw storytelling, local authenticity, and strong performances that have made Mirzapur a household name.

Since its debut, Mirzapur has become synonymous with intense drama, unforgettable dialogues, and layered characters. With the announcement of Mirzapur: The Movie, fans are eagerly anticipating a larger-than-life continuation of the saga that redefined Indian web storytelling.
While the release date is yet to be announced, insiders suggest that the film will serve as both a continuation and cinematic expansion of the series’ story arc, promising the same gritty realism and emotional depth that have been the show’s hallmark.
