New Delhi, Oct 24 (TheTrendingPeople.com): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that record-breaking Diwali sales reflect how the GST Bachat Utsav has stimulated demand, production, and employment across India. Speaking at the Rozgar Mela via video conference, he announced that the festive campaign has now evolved into a ‘Rozgar Utsav’, linking economic growth with youth employment.
51,000 Youth Celebrate Diwali with Jobs
PM Modi highlighted the double joy of Diwali for over 51,000 young Indians who received appointment letters for permanent jobs on Friday.
“Amidst the festive celebrations, receiving appointment letters for permanent jobs adds a double dose of joy — both the cheer of the festival and the success of employment,” the Prime Minister said.
He emphasised that these appointments are not merely government positions but opportunities for youth to actively participate in nation-building.
“When young people succeed, the nation succeeds,” he added, extending his best wishes to all appointees and their families and urging them to embrace the spirit of service through the mantra ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’.
Rozgar Melas Empower Youth
The Prime Minister noted that Rozgar Melas have become a powerful platform for fulfilling aspirations, with over 11 lakh appointment letters issued so far. He also mentioned the government’s PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, which targets employment for 3.5 crore young Indians.
“Initiatives like the Skill India Mission and the National Career Service are connecting youth with training and employment opportunities, sharing information on more than 7 crore vacancies through these platforms,” PM Modi said.
GST Reforms Fuel Economic Growth
PM Modi explained how GST reforms have contributed to economic activity:
“When everyday goods become cheaper, demand rises; increased demand accelerates production; and higher output leads to new jobs. The ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ is, thus, transforming into an Employment Festival.”
The Prime Minister added that festive sales this year have energized not just the market but also created new employment opportunities, demonstrating the positive impact of tax reforms on the economy.
