Applications for Urimaithogai Scheme Open at ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ Camps in Virudhunagar
Virudhunagar, July 14, 2025 - The Tamil Nadu government has announced that applications for the Kalaignar Mahalir Urimaithogai Scheme can now be submitted at 349 specially organized camps across Virudhunagar district under the ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ initiative. This move aims to extend welfare benefits to women who were previously left out and to address grievances directly from the grassroots level.
Six Camps Kick Off on Tuesday
Virudhunagar District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra informed the media that the first set of camps will commence on Tuesday, July 15, at six locations:
- Amanakku Natham – Aruppukottai Block
- Aladipatti – Tiruchuli Union
- Keezha Keppulingaptti – Kariyapatti Union
- Mariyur – Narikudi Union
- Ward 1 – Sivakasi Corporation
- Ward 1 – Srivilliputtur Municipality
These camps will act as direct channels for receiving applications from eligible women who had been inadvertently excluded from the Kalaignar Mahalir Urimaithogai Scheme. After a thorough verification process, eligible applicants will be granted the entitled financial assistance.
Monthly Rollout and Administrative Oversight
Out of the 349 total camps, 114 will be held within the first month. Each camp will have a Deputy Collector-level nodal officer supervising the process, ensuring coordination among various departmental officials.
The government has allocated 229 camps in rural areas and 120 in urban centers to ensure comprehensive coverage across the district.
A People-Centric Outreach
The ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ (With You, Stalin) program is a key outreach initiative ordered by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to personally engage with the public across Tamil Nadu, particularly in rural and urban areas. The objective is to address long-pending grievances and extend government schemes to those who need them the most.
Volunteers involved in the program have already distributed over 36,663 pamphlets and applications in Virudhunagar district alone, encouraging residents to attend the camps and voice their concerns.
Redressal Within 45 Days
A total of 43 services by 13 departments in urban areas and 46 services by 15 departments in rural areas will be addressed through these camps. These services span multiple departments such as Revenue, Social Welfare, Health, Education, and Employment.
The district administration has assured that all registered grievances will be resolved within 45 days of submission.
