Sumukhi Suresh Embraces the Unpredictable in Reality Show ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’ on Zee TV
Mumbai, July 23 — Comedian and actor Sumukhi Suresh is stepping far outside her comfort zone in the upcoming Zee TV reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, a social experiment that places 11 independent urban women in a rural village for over 60 days. The unscripted format strips contestants of modern conveniences like phones and gadgets, compelling them to adapt to a completely unfamiliar way of life.
Speaking about her experience, Sumukhi shared, “I’m incredibly excited and equally nervous as this is going to be the very first time I live in a village, and that too as a part of a reality show. That’s a challenge like no other! All 11 of us are stepping into this without any of the comforts we’re used to, no phones, no gadgets, and if you think we know what’s coming, trust me, we don’t.”
Sumukhi emphasized that it’s the very unpredictability of Chhoriyan Chali Gaon that makes it unique. “The unpreparedness is the most beautiful part of this journey,” she said, highlighting the raw and unfiltered experience of rural life. The show not only challenges their survival instincts but also fosters personal growth and community bonding in an environment alien to most of them.
The show will be hosted by youth icon Rannvijay Singha, who takes on the role of host, mentor, and motivator. His extensive experience in adventure-based reality TV brings authenticity and strength to the format. “When it comes to a host, Rannvijay is hands down the perfect person to guide us through this. His personality strikes that perfect balance between motivating a contestant and someone who can hold us accountable,” said Sumukhi.
Known for her sharp wit and relatable comedy, Sumukhi has made a mark in the Indian comedy scene with her stand-up special Don’t Tell Amma, Amazon Prime Video’s Pushpavalli, and her appearances in Comicstaan, Go Straight Take Left, and Comedy Premium League. This reality show marks a significant shift from her scripted performances to unscripted emotional realities.
Chhoriyan Chali Gaon is not just another reality show; it’s a story of adaptation, emotional strength, and rediscovering one’s self in simplicity. The show explores the lives of women who step away from urban chaos and step into the slow, rhythmic pace of rural life, learning valuable lessons from the heartland of India.
Zee TV has positioned the show as a refreshing reality experiment with real stakes and genuine emotions. With Sumukhi and 10 other participants expected to face tasks, rural routines, and emotional revelations, the show promises a blend of humor, heart, and humanity.
Sumukhi concluded, “I’m so proud to be a part of this journey and hope I can entertain, connect, and grow along with everyone who watches.”
The show is scheduled to air on Zee TV, with its premiere expected soon. The exact release date is yet to be announced by the channel.
