Medha Rana Cast Opposite Varun Dhawan in War Drama 'Border 2', Releasing January 2026
In a major casting announcement, the makers of Border 2 have confirmed that emerging talent Medha Rana will star as the female lead opposite Varun Dhawan. The war drama, a spiritual successor to the 1997 classic Border, is slated for release on January 23, 2026—just ahead of Republic Day.
Medha Rana, known for her roles in London Files, Friday Night Plan, Ishq In The Air, and Dancing on the Graves, will make her Bollywood breakthrough with this project. Coming from an Army background herself, Medha brings a deeply personal touch to the character, which producers say was crucial in finalizing her for the part.
Producer Bhushan Kumar elaborated on the choice, stating, “We were looking for someone who could naturally embody the dialect, spirit, and essence of the region. Medha brings raw talent and emotional depth that matched our vision perfectly.”
Co-producer Nidhi Dutta echoed the sentiment: “Border 2 is not just a film—it’s an emotion. Medha and Varun together bring a level of sincerity and freshness that truly reflects the heart of our story.”
