Singer Mangli in Legal Trouble After Police Raid Birthday Party in Chevella Resort
Popular Telugu playback singer Mangli has landed in legal trouble after police raided her birthday celebration late last night at Tripura Resort in Chevella, Telangana. The police found foreign liquor being served without license, and a guest was caught consuming marijuana during the event, which reportedly took place without required permissions.
The Chevella Police conducted the raid after receiving a tip-off about the unauthorized gathering. According to police officials, the party did not have prior police permission or the necessary approvals from the Excise Department for serving alcohol.
Mangli Booked Under Multiple Charges
A case has been registered against Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi Rathod, for organizing the event without police permission and serving foreign liquor without an excise license. The resort’s General Manager has also been booked for facilitating the event in violation of local laws.
During the raid, a man identified as Damodar was found in possession of and consuming ganja (marijuana). He was taken into custody on the spot, and an official narcotics-related investigation is now underway to assess the extent of drug consumption at the venue.
Celebrities Under the Radar
The birthday bash was attended by several of Mangli’s close friends and industry colleagues. Among those present were singer Divi and popular lyricist Kasarla Shyam. According to sources, their names have come under scrutiny, and the police may issue formal notices to them in the coming days as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police are also reviewing video footage and photographs from the event to identify others who may have violated regulations.
Police Statement
An officer from Chevella Police Station confirmed the developments to the media:
“We received information about an illegal party being conducted at Tripura Resort. Upon investigation, it was found that there was no permission taken for the gathering. Foreign liquor was being served, and a person was found consuming marijuana. A case has been registered against the organizers, and further inquiries are ongoing.”

The incident has come as a shock to fans, especially given Mangli's otherwise clean public image. With police pursuing leads and possible drug usage under probe, more names may emerge in connection with the case.
Legal experts say that hosting an event without proper permissions and violations of excise rules could lead to serious charges, including penalties and possible imprisonment under Telangana's Excise Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
