Fire Erupts on Set of Anupamaa in Goregaon, Mumbai — No Injuries Reported
Mumbai, June 23, 2025 —A fire broke out early Monday morning on the set of Star Plus’ top-rated television show Anupamaa in Film City, Goregaon, prompting a swift emergency response. Producer Rajan Shahi, in an official statement, confirmed that no casualties were reported and all crew and staff are safe.
What Happened?
- The fire reportedly started around 5 AM, approximately two hours before the scheduled call time of 7 AM.

“This is to inform everyone about an unfortunate incident that took place early this morning on the sets of Anupamaa. A fire broke out, but by God’s grace, there were no casualties… At the time of the incident, no unit members were present on set — only the security personnel and set staff were there, who are all safe.”
Shahi also confirmed that no animals were harmed and appropriate safety protocols had been followed.
He further clarified:
“The fire department and all concerned authorities are currently investigating the reason, especially since there was no shooting on the set and the main power lights were turned off. The exact cause of the fire is still being determined.”
Appeal to Avoid Rumors
The statement also addressed the circulation of unverified claims and speculation:
“Some gossip mongers are attempting to spread false news and misleading information. We sincerely request everyone not to believe in any rumours or unverified stories. Please wait for official and confirmed updates from our side.”
The production house thanked the cast and crew, Star Plus, and industry associations for their support.

AICWA Demands Probe
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) posted about the incident, raising concerns about safety standards on sets. The body has demanded:

Their statement noted that workers were reportedly present and preparing for the day’s shoot when the fire broke out.
