Kuwait City | May 27, 2025 — In a powerful message of national unity and strategic resolve, an Indian all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda is currently in Kuwait to reinforce India’s strong stance against cross-border terrorism and highlight the deep historical and strategic partnership between India and Kuwait.
A United Message Against Terrorism
On Tuesday, the delegation met with representatives of Indian regional media based in Kuwait and the local press. The focus of the interaction was clear: to convey India’s united and unwavering national consensus in its fight against terrorism.
“India stands firm — we will confront terrorism with strength, unity and determination, with no compromise and no tolerance,” said Jay Panda in a post on X. “We shared India’s unwavering resolve against cross-border terror and our deepening strategic partnership with Kuwait.”
This comes in the wake of recent developments in Jammu & Kashmir and India’s strong diplomatic and military responses under the umbrella of Operation Sindoor—a decisive step to dismantle terror infrastructure across the border.
250 Years of Friendship on Display
Earlier in the day, the delegation visited the Rihla-e-Dosti exhibition at the National Library of Kuwait, commemorating 250 years of India-Kuwait friendship. The showcase included rare manuscripts, coins, historical books, and artefacts highlighting centuries of cultural, economic, and civilizational ties.
“India and Kuwait share a remarkable friendship built on deep historical and cultural connections,” said Panda, praising the exhibition’s role in reinforcing bilateral bonds.
A Diwaniya-Style Dialogue With Kuwaiti Civil Society
On Monday evening, the delegation participated in a traditional Diwaniya-style interaction co-hosted by the Embassy of India and a prominent Kuwaiti think-tank. The event brought together members of the royal family, former ministers, senior editors, opinion leaders, and policy experts from across Kuwaiti civil society.
Discussions focused on the situation in the Indian subcontinent, particularly India’s ‘New Normal’ approach toward cross-border terrorism.
“Participants were unanimous that terrorism is against humanity and must be countered by all means,” the Indian Embassy stated. “There was deep appreciation for India’s principled and proportionate response.”
India’s Strong Response to Pahalgam Attack
In a key meeting with Sheikh Abdullah Saad Al-Maousherji, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of Kuwait, the Indian delegation highlighted Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism, including its role in the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir.
“The delegation underscored the precise, targeted, proportionate, and non-escalatory nature of India’s response,” read the Embassy’s statement.
“India’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy and ‘New Normal’ doctrine do not differentiate between terrorists and those who support them.”
The Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait responded positively and affirmed that “terrorism has no justification”, reflecting growing regional consensus against extremism.
Outreach to the Indian Community in Kuwait
The delegation also interacted with members of the Indian diaspora in Kuwait. Discussions revolved around national security, the success of Operation Sindoor, India’s diplomatic assertiveness, and the vital role of overseas Indians in safeguarding India’s interests globally.
The delegation assured the diaspora that India’s fight against terrorism is not just a government stance but a national consensus cutting across party lines and ideologies.
