'Studied 17-18 Hours a Day': Haryana Teen on How She Scored 100% in CBSE Class 10
In an extraordinary academic achievement, 16-year-old Srishti Sharma from Panchkula, Haryana, has made headlines by scoring a perfect 500/500 in the CBSE Class 10 board examinations. A student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, Srishti achieved this feat purely through self-study, without any external coaching or tuition support.
Relentless Self-Study
According to Hindustan Times reports in a conversation with media outlets, Srishti revealed that she consistently studied for 17 to 18 hours a day, occasionally extending her routine to 20 hours. "Not one word written in any NCERT book was left unread by me," she shared, underlining her rigorous study method and commitment.
Despite the perfection in her result, Srishti shared she narrowly missed a mark in social science due to a minor error in a multiple-choice question. "I already knew where I had gone wrong. It was a silly mistake. I was bawling after returning home," she told Hindustan Times. However, thanks to CBSE's "Best of Five" rule, her top five subject scores were counted, bringing her total to 500 out of 500.
No Coaching, No Tuition
Unlike many of her peers, Srishti opted out of coaching classes and instead relied solely on the study material and guidance provided by her school. "The resources provided by the school were all I had to study from," she told PTI. Her story underscores the value of disciplined self-study and strong foundational resources.
Support from Family and Teachers
Srishti credits her parents and teachers for keeping her motivated during times of self-doubt. "I felt very underconfident, but my father and teachers always believed in me. He never pressured me," she said, describing her father as her biggest inspiration.
Big Dreams and a Bigger Message
Looking ahead, Srishti aspires to pursue computer science engineering from the prestigious IIT Bombay. Her message to fellow students is clear and heartfelt: "Always believe in yourself and work hard. If you can't do that, leave it up to God and focus on doing your best."
She added, "If you are a good person who does not put down others, then only good things will come your way. If you make your books your friends and reading your hobby, this kind of result is achievable."
