Heavy traffic congestion has gripped the Noida Expressway as traffic police implemented barricades to deter farmers marching from Noida to Parliament House on Thursday. The situation has led to significant disruptions for commuters, with authorities blocking two out of three lanes near Dalit Prerna Sthal, allowing only one lane of traffic towards Mayur Vihar.
In response to the ongoing protests, traffic police have halted all entry to the Noida Expressway, resulting in a considerable number of commuters being stranded on the Noida-Delhi side. Additionally, Kalindi Kunj is experiencing heavy traffic congestion, contrasting with the normal traffic flow on the DND Flyway.
Delhi police have also taken measures to prevent the entry of farmers into the city, deploying water cannons and personnel at Chilla Border.
Acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the protests and ensuing traffic congestion, Noida traffic police have advised commuters to utilize internal roads within Noida for their journeys and avoid the Noida Expressway until the situation stabilizes.
The farmers participating in the protest have been vocal about their demands, which include increased compensation and developed plots for land acquired in the past by Noida and Greater Noida authorities.
As the situation unfolds, commuters are urged to stay informed about alternate routes and plan their travel accordingly to minimize disruptions caused by the ongoing protests.
