Adding to the fun, Varun shared the clip with a cheeky birthday message for the actress: “Happy bday pooja ji please share ur beauty hacks @hegdepooja and stop being mean to society. (sic)”
Pooja Hegde, who turned 35 on Monday, kicked off her birthday celebrations with an intimate cake-cutting ceremony. Dressed in a stunning pink sequin dress paired with a studded necklace and matching earrings, the Radhe Shyam actress looked radiant as she cut two cakes surrounded by close friends and crew members.
Sharing glimpses of her celebration on Instagram, Pooja captioned her post, “Birthday celebrations begin with a little bit of work and a whole lotta love (cake emoji) (sic).”
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai marks Pooja and Varun’s first on-screen collaboration, directed by David Dhawan. The film’s title is believed to be inspired by the hit song Hai Jawani Toh Pyaar Hona Hai from David Dhawan’s 1999 blockbuster Biwi No. 1, starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.
The upcoming romantic comedy will also feature an ensemble cast including Mrunal Thakur, Kubbra Sait, Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela.
Touted as a heartwarming mix of romance and comedy, the film tells the story of a young man rejected by several women, who ultimately finds an unexpected helping hand from God.
With Varun and Pooja’s energetic chemistry and David Dhawan’s signature humor, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai promises to be a joyful entertainer for audiences of all ages.
