At least three Baloch youth have been forcibly disappeared and one killed in custody by Pakistani security forces in the latest wave of repression in Balochistan, a leading human rights group has claimed.
The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department, Paank, said in a statement on Tuesday that the cycle of enforced disappearances and custodial killings is intensifying across the province, particularly in Kech district.
Schoolteacher’s Son Among the Disappeared
One of the most disturbing incidents involved a violent raid at the home of Sadiq Baloch, a schoolteacher in Kech. Paank stated that women and children were physically assaulted during the operation.
"In a blatant act of repression, the forces forcibly disappeared Sadiq’s young son, Sanjar Sadiq," the rights body alleged.
Medical Assistant Taken While Returning From Duty
Another victim was Dadshah Baloch, a medical assistant working in the health department. He was allegedly abducted by Pakistani forces while returning home from duty in Turbat, the main city of Kech district.
Pattern of Ambushes and Check Post Targeting
A third victim, Shunas Baloch, from Sari Kallag in Gowarkop, was reportedly stopped at the Pidrak Check Post on August 2. According to Paank, the vehicle he was travelling in was halted for an hour and then allowed to pass — only to be blocked again and ambushed a few minutes later.
“He was taken away illegally, and his location remains unknown,” the statement said, adding that his family has not been informed or granted legal recourse.
More Cases: Zahid and Shah Jahan Murad
In another incident, Zahid, a resident of Kuros Tank, was reportedly abducted from Pakeer Colony in Gwadar during the early hours of Monday. His whereabouts are still unknown.
Paank also revealed a case of alleged custodial killing:
- Shah Jahan Murad was abducted from Chitkan area of Panjgur on July 29, 2025
- He was allegedly tortured and killed in custody, with his body dumped in Panjgur on Monday
“This is a terrifying rise in in-custody murders. These actions are erasing our people,” Paank said.
Calls for International Accountability
Paank condemned the continued targeting of Baloch students, civilians, and professionals, stating that these acts of repression amount to a genocide in slow motion.
The organisation urged international human rights agencies and the UN to hold Pakistan accountable for these alleged human rights violations, which include:
- Enforced disappearances
- Torture in custody
- Illegal detentions without trial
- Increasing extrajudicial executions
“These are not isolated events. This is part of a systematic policy to crush dissent and erase Baloch identity,” the group added.
Final Thoughts of The Trending People
The alarming spike in enforced disappearances and custodial killings in Balochistan is a clear signal that human rights are under siege in the region. What makes these incidents particularly chilling is the pattern of impunity — no legal recourse, no accountability, no answers.
As the international community remains largely silent, families continue to search for missing sons, brothers, and fathers, often finding only silence or lifeless bodies in return. The demand for transparency, justice, and global intervention is no longer just moral—it’s urgent.
In Balochistan, what’s unfolding is not just repression. It’s a humanitarian crisis, and the world must choose whether to look away or speak out.
