Rangeen’ Trailer Out: A Bold and Honest Take on Love, Betrayal and Identity
The makers of Prime Video’s upcoming comedy-drama series "Rangeen" have officially released its much-anticipated trailer. Promising an honest, witty, and layered take on modern relationships, the series is set to premiere on July 25. Starring Rajshri Deshpande, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Taaruk Raina, and Sheeba Chaddha, "Rangeen" is anything but conventional.
At the heart of the story is Naina, played by Rajshri Deshpande, who describes the series as a reflection of real, complicated human emotions. “Rangeen isn’t just a twisted relationship drama—it’s a mirror to the complexities we carry in our hearts and minds,” Rajshri said while speaking about her role.
Her character Naina, she adds, is unapologetically hungry—not just for love or lust—but for meaning beyond the social boxes women are usually confined to. “What I love is that Rangeen doesn’t reduce women to labels. It lets them be messy, searching, and painfully human,” she shared.
A Story Rooted in Reality
"Rangeen" is produced by Kabir Khan and Rajan Kapoor, and created by Amardeep Galsin and Amir Rizvi. The show has been co-directed by Kopal Naithani and Pranjal Dua, bringing together a creative team determined to tell an unfiltered story about intimacy, betrayal, and human need.
Viineet Kumar Siingh, who plays Adarsh—the mild-mannered husband whose life turns upside down—called the role deeply relatable. “Adarsh is flawed, confused, but also sincere. What excited me was the chance to show someone dealing with betrayal, not with over-the-top drama, but with quiet emotion and humour,” he explained.
A Satirical Yet Emotional Ride
The trailer reveals a storyline that begins with Adarsh discovering his wife’s affair, which sets him off on an unexpected journey filled with dark humour, emotional conflict, and uncomfortable truths. From the trailer alone, “Rangeen” makes it clear that it’s not just about drama, but about holding up a mirror to what modern relationships truly look like.
Amardeep Galsin, the co-creator, said, “Rangeen explores what intimacy, power, and emotional need look like when you're not in a rom-com. It’s a satire that balances wit and emotional honesty.”
Adding to that, co-creator Amir Rizvi revealed that the inspiration for “Rangeen” came from a news article that sparked a deep exploration of hidden lives. “Rangeen is about the lives we lead beneath the surface—the identities we guard and the choices we justify,” Amir said.
What Makes ‘Rangeen’ Different
Unlike most drama series that lean heavily on stereotypes and predictable story arcs, “Rangeen” seems to delve into the grey areas—where human emotions are not always clean or clearly defined. It avoids neatly tied endings and embraces the messiness of real life.
What sets “Rangeen” apart is its strong writing, emotional depth, and the creators’ refusal to spoon-feed easy answers. It challenges viewers to engage with the characters not as heroes or villains, but as flawed human beings, trying to make sense of their personal chaos.
With a powerful cast, clever storytelling, and bold themes, “Rangeen” has the potential to start important conversations around identity, betrayal, and the expectations placed on individuals—especially women—in relationships. It’s a series that doesn’t try to fix things, but rather lays them bare for audiences to interpret.
Whether you’re drawn to emotional drama or sharp satire, Rangeen is a series worth marking on your calendar.
Streaming exclusively on Prime Video from July 25.
