Kolkata, June, 04 – Audiences in Kolkata are set for a unique cinematic experience with "Radio Ghaint," a new comedy film directed by Indrajit Nattoji.
The 50-minute feature, part of the "Ladies First" anthology series, blends classic Bollywood slapstick with contemporary storytelling, offering both laughter and deeper insights.
Set in the fictional town of Luvdhiana, "Radio Ghaint" centers on the desperate attempts to revive a struggling local radio station. The narrative takes a chaotic turn when a live drama broadcast spirals wildly out of control. This unexpected shift is triggered by the impromptu interventions of eccentric characters, including a flamboyant romance novelist, a beatboxing guard, and a self-proclaimed Bollywood diva named Amrita.
Tandon, known for her roles in "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" and "Jab We Met," delivers a standout performance as Amrita. Her character's wild improvisations introduce hilarious elements such as aliens, spies, and jaw-dropping plot twists, transforming the broadcast into comic bedlam.
Beyond its riotous humor, "Radio Ghaint" delves into significant themes of self-discovery and empowerment. Director Indrajit Nattoji emphasizes this aspect, stating, "While the film parodies our obsession with fame and drama, it’s ultimately about a woman reclaiming her narrative." The film explores how, amidst the comedic chaos, individuals find their voices and assert their stories.
"Radio Ghaint" is poised to offer a refreshing take on the comedy genre, delivering a rollercoaster of entertainment that resonates with modern sensibilities.
