Mumbai, June 3, (The Trending People) Actress Jayati Bhatia, currently making waves as the complex Bua Ji in the popular show "Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile," shared her unique approach to acting, stating, "As an actor, I don’t want to just blend in—I want to make people feel something."
Bhatia revealed that to bring her character, Sharda Suryavanshi (affectionately known as Bua Ji), to life, she drew inspiration from her own experiences and even classic literature. She particularly looked to the cunning and manipulative character of Iago from Shakespeare’s "Othello."
"When I first read about Sharda Suryavanshi, I was immediately intrigued by her psychological depth," Bhatia explained. "She doesn’t think of herself as a negative person. In her mind, she’s preserving the emotional order she has carefully built, and Reet is a disruption to that."
The actress found a parallel in Iago, who expertly twists the truth while appearing loyal. "That was my launchpad," she said. "I’ve met people in real life who will shower you with love and yet plot your downfall. I took that duality and applied it here. The warmth in Bua Ji isn’t fake—it’s just weaponised when needed."
Bhatia's goal for Bua Ji is to leave viewers utterly confused about her intentions. "Is she caring or controlling? Is she protecting Raghav, or isolating him?" she questioned. "I want viewers to get so involved, they start yelling at the screen whenever Bua Ji makes a move—then I’ve done my job."
Embracing the challenge of playing a character designed to evoke strong reactions, Bhatia boldly stated, "I hope to become a household name to be hated, and I say that with pride because that’s when I’ll know I’ve truly done justice to the role."
"Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile" tells the tender yet turbulent love story of Raghav, played by Bharat Ahlawwat, and Reet, essayed by Ayushi Khurana. However, it's the subtle manipulation and emotional games orchestrated by Bua Ji that truly add a compelling layer to the drama.
"Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile" airs on Zee TV, continuing to captivate audiences with its intricate storyline and powerful performances.
