Hyderabad, June 12 – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for six districts in Telangana for Friday, June 13, 2025. In its latest bulletin, the department also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places across the State.
Districts Under Heavy Rain Alert
The following districts are expected to receive heavy rainfall at isolated locations:
- Jayashankar Bhupalpally
- Mulugu
- Bhadradri Kothagudem
- Mahabubabad
- Warangal
- Hanumakonda
The IMD has urged residents of these areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying and flood-prone regions. Officials have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors during intense showers and thunderstorms.
Thunderstorm, Lightning Risk Across Telangana
In addition to localized heavy rainfall, the IMD bulletin also warns of:

- These weather phenomena are likely to occur at isolated places across all districts of Telangana.

For Hyderabad, the IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies over the next 24 hours, with light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers expected in parts of the city. Gusty winds may accompany these showers.
