Bengaluru — In a powerful display of youth solidarity and patriotism, the Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) hosted a massive youth pledge event titled “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve” on Wednesday. The event was part of a nationwide initiative led by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) aimed at fostering unity and commitment among students across India.
About 4,000 students at RUAS took the National Youth Pledge, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. The pledge symbolised the determination of young Indians to contribute actively to nation-building and uphold the values of unity in diversity.
The event saw participation from key university leaders, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Raina, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Govind R. Kadambi, Dean Academics Dr. R V Ranghanath, and other senior faculty members. The gathering commenced with a cultural invocation, followed by a stirring address by the Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Raina emphasised the vital role of youth in shaping the future of the country. “We are with the youth, and we pledge our full support to empowering the young minds of our nation, who will lead us towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Association of Indian Universities’ initiative is a commendable effort to unify youth across India in this national resolve,” he said.
Students at the event shared their enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. One participant reflected, “This pledge is not just mere words but a promise to sustain our efforts even in future.” Another student expressed pride in the country’s linguistic and cultural unity, stating, “Despite so many languages, we never felt any language barrier. We all are united as Indians.” A female student described the pledge as a message to take pride in their Indian identity and to dedicate themselves to national causes.
This event at RUAS marked a significant moment in the AIU’s ongoing campaign to instill civic responsibility and national pride among India’s youth, reinforcing their role as the custodians of Bharat’s future.
