Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ to Release on 2 October 2025
Mumbai, May 27 – Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa have officially unveiled the first poster and release date of their much-awaited film, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. The intense romantic drama is all set to hit theatres on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.
The film, formerly titled Deewaniyat, has undergone a creative rebranding and now arrives with a new title and renewed emotional intensity.
A Poster That Sparks Curiosity
The newly released poster, shared by both Rane and Bajwa on Instagram, portrays a scene brimming with symbolism and emotion. In the image, Sonam Bajwa is seen holding a lighter while gazing at Harshvardhan Rane, who is burning a rose—an act hinting at themes of love, pain, and obsession.
Their caption reads:
"2nd October 2025 Gandhi Jayanti aur Dussehra pe cinema gharon mein dekhiye mohabbat, nafrat aur 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat'."
This powerful line promises a story that explores the blurred lines between love and madness.
Rebranding the Romance: From ‘Deewaniyat’ to ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’
Originally announced under the title Deewaniyat, the film’s shift from Vikir Films to Play DMF, the rising studio helmed by Anshul Garg, led to a significant creative overhaul. The team felt the original name no longer captured the essence of the updated story and tone. The result is Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat — a more intimate, expressive title reflecting the personal journey of love and heartbreak.
A Tale of Obsession and Heartbreak
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film is co-written by Zaveri and Mushtaq Shiekh and co-produced by Raghav Sharma. Known for emotional dramas and intense storytelling, Zaveri described the film as:
“One of the most powerful and heartbreaking love stories I’ve written. It has the madness of love.”
This film also marks the first on-screen pairing of Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa—two actors known for their expressive performances and emotional depth.
A Script Close to the Heart
In an earlier social media post in April, Harshvardhan Rane expressed deep admiration for the project. Sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, he called it the strongest script he has ever worked on.
He wrote:
“My strongest written script till date… @mushtaqshiekh, a director who is burning to tell this heartwrenching story, @milapzaveri an exceptionally sincere and honest actor, @sonambajwa a producer to die for @anshul300…”
Rane also hinted at the journey behind the title change, suggesting that rights to the original name were unavailable:
“…#deewaniyat title nahi mila, kisi aur ke paas hai… But you and God are responsible for this dream team. Gratitude.”
A Perfect Festive Release
With a Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra release slot, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is well-positioned to attract a large audience drawn to intense romantic dramas with emotional depth and visual flair.
Backed by Play DMF, known for bringing youthful and emotionally rich stories to screen, the film is expected to be a major festive release and a potential box office hit.
