His maternal grandmother initially named him Abdul Rehman, but his father later changed it to Shah Rukh. He attended St. Columba’s School in Delhi, where he was a cricket enthusiast and played as a wicket-keeper.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Shah Rukh Khan started his career on television with the serial ‘Fauji’ in 1989. He then acted in several TV shows like ‘Umeed,’ ‘Wagle Ki Duniya,’ and ‘Mahan Karz.’ He also appeared in an English language telefilm ‘In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones.’ He made his Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Deewana’ in 1992 and went on to star in movies like ‘Chamatkar,’ ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman,’ ‘Maya Memsaab,’ ‘King Uncle,’ ‘Baazigar,’ ‘Darr,’ and a cameo in ‘Pehla Nasha.’
