Ileana D’Cruz is an Portuguese actress who was born in Mumbai, India and spent most of her childhood in Goa. She predominantly works in Hindi and Telugu films. Ileana D’Cruz made her first debut in year 2006 with a Telugu film Devadasu. The film was a huge success and made her win a Filmfare award for the best female debutant. Later on she went on for Telugu films like Jalsa, Pokiri, Nanban, and Kedi. Ileana made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s film Barfi.

Ileana was born on 1 November 1987 in Mahim, Mumbai, India. Her family members and friends call him by her nickname Illu. When she was ten years old, her family shifted from Mahim, Mumbai to Parra, Goa. On the suggestion of her mother’s then-manager, she joined the modelling. The Indian producer Rakesh Roshan first saw her talent in an advertisement and helped to take her first major role. She achieved success in a very short duration of time because of her hard work. She was also the first Indian actress who was given the remuneration of one crore in South Indian film industry. This was the highest remuneration at that time given to a female lead.

She is known for her beautiful and stunning looks and is approximately 5′ 5″ tall. She weighs around 55 kg. Ileana has dark brown eyes and black hair.

She belongs to a Goan Catholic Christian family. Her father Ronaldo D’Cruz is a mechanical draftsman and her mother Samira D’Cruz is a designer. She has two sisters; one is elder named Farrah D’Cruz, and the other is younger named Eileen D’Cruz. She has a brother named Rhys D’Cruz.

After dating Australian photographer Andrew Kneebone for several years, she broke up with him in August 2019.

She did her schooling at St.Xaviers Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, Goa and did her graduation from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. When she was 16 years old, she started doing modelling, and according to her, her first portfolio which was created by Marc Robinson was a disaster. After that, she walked the ramps for several popular fashion designers. She later did several TV commercial advertisements like Fair & Lovely, Emami Talc, Electrolux, etc.

In 2005, she joined the Aruna Bikshu Acting School in Hyderabad, Telangana to nourish her acting skills. In 2006, she made her film debut by playing the lead role of Bhanumati in the Telugu film Devadasu. The film was commercially successful and grossed over 140 million. She received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her next Telugu film Pokiri in which she played the lead role of Shruti became the highest-grossing Telugu film.

In 2017, she appeared in Atif Aslam’s music video Pehli Dafa.

Ileana once gave a bold comment on sex that “Sex is a major relaxation to my body. It keeps me young, and I don’t mind to talk about that in public” which created controversy.

In 2012, the film producer Mohan Natarajan filed a complaint against her not to return the 40 lakhs (INR) advance that she took from him.
