Ileana D’Cruz is an Portuguese actress who was born in Mumbai, India and spent most of her childhood in Goa. She predominantly works in Hindi and Telugu films. Ileana D’Cruz made her first debut in year 2006 with a Telugu film Devadasu. The film was a huge success and made her win a Filmfare award for the best female debutant. Later on she went on for Telugu films like Jalsa, Pokiri, Nanban, and Kedi. Ileana made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s film Barfi.
Ileana was born on 1 November 1987 in Mahim, Mumbai, India. Her family members and friends call him by her nickname Illu. When she was ten years old, her family shifted from Mahim, Mumbai to Parra, Goa. On the suggestion of her mother’s then-manager, she joined the modelling. The Indian producer Rakesh Roshan first saw her talent in an advertisement and helped to take her first major role. She achieved success in a very short duration of time because of her hard work. She was also the first Indian actress who was given the remuneration of one crore in South Indian film industry. This was the highest remuneration at that time given to a female lead.

She did her schooling at St.Xaviers Higher Secondary School, Mapusa, Goa and did her graduation from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. When she was 16 years old, she started doing modelling, and according to her, her first portfolio which was created by Marc Robinson was a disaster. After that, she walked the ramps for several popular fashion designers. She later did several TV commercial advertisements like Fair & Lovely, Emami Talc, Electrolux, etc.
In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with the director Anurag Basu’s film Barfi!
as Shruti Ghosh Sengupta. She received various awards for her performance in that film like ETC Bollywood Business Award for Most Profitable Debut (Female), Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female, Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut, Star Guild Award for Best Female Debut, and Times of India Film Awards for Best Female Debut and Best Supporting Actress. In 2017, she appeared in Atif Aslam’s music video Pehli Dafa.
