From detox drinks to rare cooking experiments, Soha Ali Khan opens up about her wellness routine and kitchen confessions
Actress and fitness enthusiast Soha Ali Khan recently gave her fans a glimpse into her unique and healthy morning routine through a series of social media updates. Known for her disciplined lifestyle and love for wellness, Soha took to Instagram to pose a curious question to her followers—what does she consume every morning on an empty stomach: soaked almonds or raw garlic?
Soon after, she revealed the answer in a short video posted on her Instagram stories—she eats a raw garlic clove each morning. The post, equal parts surprising and inspiring, read, “Can you guess what I am eating every morning on an empty stomach? Soaked almonds or raw garlic?” as she bit into the garlic.
This isn’t the only health ritual Soha swears by. A few days ago, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ star also shared another wellness tip: drinking white pumpkin juice, also known as ash gourd juice, every morning for the past three months. Calling it her detox drink, Soha emphasized the multiple benefits of this unique concoction.
She shared a video preparing the juice in her kitchen and wrote, “Self-love is hugely important! I have been drinking white pumpkin juice (ash gourd) every morning on an empty stomach for the past three months. It's detoxifying, cooling, and great for my gut. #nutrition #detox #juice #morningritual #fitnessfriday.”
This glimpse into Soha’s wellness regime resonated strongly with her followers, especially those on the lookout for natural and traditional ways to boost immunity and maintain gut health. Ash gourd juice is known in Ayurveda for its cooling properties and is often recommended for detoxifying the body.
A Rare Sighting: Soha in the Kitchen
Apart from her morning rituals, Soha recently left fans amused and delighted when she shared pictures of herself cooking—a rare sight indeed. Posting two candid photos from her kitchen on Instagram, Soha joked in the caption, “Yes, it's me. No, it's not AI - I cooked!! #raresighting.”
The images sparked reactions across social media, with fans expressing surprise and admiration. But Soha soon set the record straight in a recent interview with IANS while promoting her upcoming film Chhorii 2. She candidly admitted that cooking isn’t really her forte, and the credit for most kitchen responsibilities in her home goes to her husband, actor Kunal Kemmu.
“I actually don't know how to cook anything,” Soha laughed, explaining how in the photos she shared, she was mostly just pretending to be busy. “I was just staring at it. And I was pretending to do something. Is this salt or sugar? Tell me. So, I put this in,” she quipped.
She went on to say, “Kunal is the cook in our family. More than me, even Inaya [their daughter] can cook. She makes great chapatis.”
Balancing Wellness and Real Life
Despite her humorous take on cooking, Soha’s approach to wellness is deeply committed. Her openness about her health practices—from drinking detoxifying juices to eating raw garlic—reflects a desire to lead a balanced and grounded life, even amidst the glamour of Bollywood.
Her fans admire her not just for her acting skills but for being relatable, real, and rooted. Whether it’s parenting, fitness, or self-care, Soha continues to strike the right chord by being honest and transparent about her strengths—and her weaknesses.
As anticipation builds for her performance in Chhorii 2, audiences are equally eager to see more of her off-screen journey as a modern woman who embraces both traditional wellness practices and modern-day humour with equal ease.
