Hyderabad, July 21 – In a shocking road rage incident on Sunday night, Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sri Ganesh Narayanan’s convoy was allegedly attacked by a group of individuals while en route to a Bonalu celebration in Manakeshwar Nagar.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as the MLA’s convoy passed RTC Hospital and proceeded along Osmania University Road, near the Sithaphalmandi area.
Crowd Reacts After Convoy Honks to Clear the Way
According to police sources from the East Zone, the altercation began when the convoy honked to alert a crowd blocking the road. The honking, intended to request the crowd to make way, reportedly triggered a hostile reaction from a few individuals present at the scene.
“According to the MLA, the confrontation began when his convoy honked at a crowd gathered on the road, requesting them to move aside,” said a senior officer from the East Zone police.
Sri Ganesh Narayanan claimed that some men from the group became aggressive, attempted to stop his vehicle, and caused a brief commotion.
FIR Registered; CCTV Footage Under Review
Following the incident, the MLA visited the Osmania University police station and filed an official complaint. Based on his statement, the Osmania University police have registered a case and begun investigating the matter.
Officials said they are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify those involved in the road rage incident. No injuries or major damage were reported.
“The situation did not escalate beyond verbal aggression and attempts to stop the vehicle,” added the police.
